- 1 meaty ham bone
- 3 qt. water
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 pkg. dry green split peas
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1If you wish the soup to cook quickly, soak the peas in water overnight.

2Drain.

3Put peas and ham in water.

4Add onions and celery.

5Bring to a boil and simmer slowly, stirring occasionally, until peas have disintegrated and turned to mush.

6Add seasonings to taste.

7Serves 8 to 10.
