  • 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) green split peas
  • 1 meaty ham bone (or 2 tsp. ham base)
  • 1 c. diced onion
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 c. diced carrots
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 c. diced ham (if no bone)

    Bring to boil, then simmer 1 1/2 hours.

    Remove bone; cut off ham meat and dice.
