- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. almond
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 7 egg yolks
- 7 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Sift flour once, measure and sift 4 times.

2Add water and 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla and almond to egg yolks and beat with mixer until very thick and light.

3Add flour all at once and stir until just blended.

4Beat egg whites and salt with mixer.

5When foamy, add cream of tartar.

6Continue to beat until egg whites are stiff enough to hold up in peaks, but not dry.

7Add remaining 3/4 cup sugar.

8Fold in egg yolk mixture.

9Bake in ungreased tube pan at 325° for 1 hour.
