- 4 large eggs
- 2 c. sugar (granulated)
- 20 drops anise oil or 4 Tbsp. anise seed
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Beat eggs until light, gradually add sugar and continue beating at a high speed for 15 to 20 minutes until batter is thick and lemon colored.

2Add anise.

3Sift flour and soda and blend with egg mixture at a low speed.

4Cover bowl with wax paper or foil and let stand 15 minutes (so it is easier to work with).

5Divide into 3 parts.

6On lightly floured surface roll dough to 8-inch square, 1/4 inch thick.

7Let rest 1 minute.

8Flour mold and press design, cut and place on lightly floured surface.

9Cover with a towel all night.
-
10Grease a cookie sheet well.

11Brush off excess flour from the cookie sheet.

12Bake about 15 to 20 minutes at 300°.

13Yield 6 dozen cookies.
