- 4 lb. yellow squash
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1 c. mushroom soup
- 1 c. grated American or mild Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Slice squash and onions in saucepan.

2Cook in water over medium heat about 20 minutes.

3Drain in a colander.

4Mash and add other ingredients (except cheese).

5Place in greased 2-quart dish and cover top with the grated cheese.

6Cover and bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

7Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes and serve.
