Ingredients

  • 4 qt. small squash, thinly sliced
  • 6 medium onions, sliced
  • 1/4 c. salt
  • crushed ice
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. turmeric seed
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 3 c. vinegar

Directions

    Mix squash, onions and salt. Cover with crushed ice and let stand 3 hours.

    Pour off water. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over squash.

    Bring to boiling point.

    Take off and put in hot jars and seal.
