- 1 qt. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp. lard
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- flour
Directions

1Mix water, dry yeast, lard, salt and sugar together, then add flour until thick.

2Turn out on floured surface.

3Knead and work a little more flour into it.

4Do not make real stiff.

5Make into balls a little bigger than a black plum and stretch it out to about 2 inches thick or less.

6Let rise until double in size and fry in hot grease until brown on both sides.

7(Good eaten with butter and sometimes roll in sugar.)
