  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. shortening or cooking oil
  • 2 Tbsp. steak sauce (optional)
