  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cubes beef bouillon (with 3 c. hot water or 1 can beef bouillon)
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • garlic seasoning to taste
  • a little butter (for browning onion)
  • 1/4 c. red wine

    In a skillet, brown chopped onion in a little butter.

    Add beef bouillon.

    Simmer.

    Add garlic seasoning, salt, pepper and drained mushrooms.

    Add Worcestershire sauce.

    Add flour (the old-fashioned way:

    add some hot liquid from skillet to the flour in a cup; when flour and liquid are a thin and smooth consistency, add to skillet mixture).

    Add red wine.

    Makes 2 to 3 cups of sauce, enough for 8 steaks.
