- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the loaf pan
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle stout, at room temperature
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 375F.

2Brush one 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with some of the butter.

3In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

4Add the beer and 2 tablespoons of the remaining melted butter, stirring just until combined.

5(The batter will be somewhat lumpy.)

6Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and drizzle with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter.

7Bake until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.

8Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly, then invert onto the rack to cool until warm.

9Serve warm or at room temperature.
