- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 pint strawberries (about 14 ounces), cleaned and hulled
- 1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Mix the sugar and cornstarch in a bowl.

3Add the vanilla and eggs, and mix well with a whisk for 30 to 40 seconds.

4Add the milk and mix until it is incorporated.

5Quarter the berries and distribute them evenly in a 6-cup gratin dish.

6Pour the egg mixture over the berries and place the gratin dish on a cookie sheet.

7Bake the gratin in the oven for about 40 minutes, until just set.

8Cool to room temperature.

9Sprinkle confectioner's sugar on top of the cool gratin and serve.
