Ingredients: 1 c. mini marshmallows; 2 c. (two 10 oz. pkg.) sliced strawberries in syrup; 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O; 2 1/4 c. flour; 1/2 c. sugar; 1/2 c. shortening; 3 tsp. baking powder; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1 c. milk; 1 tsp. vanilla; 3 eggs

1 c. mini marshmallows
2 c. (two 10 oz. pkg.) sliced strawberries in syrup
1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Generously grease bottom only of 13 x 9-inch pan.

Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan.

Thoroughly combine completely thawed strawberries and syrup with dry gelatin; set aside.

In large mixer bowl, combine remaining ingredients.

Blend at low speed until moistened.

Beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.

Pour batter evenly over marshmallows in pan.

Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter.

Bake at 400° for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.

As the cake bakes, the strawberries sink and the marshmallows rise and glaze the top.
