- 5 or 6 fresh pears, cut in 1-inch pieces to make 5 c.
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
- 1 pie shell
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 small can coconut
Directions

1Cook pears on low heat until tender or use canned pears.

2Add 2 tablespoons flour and 1/3 cup sugar to juice.

3Cook until thick. Put pears into pie shell and cover with juice that has been thickened.

4Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.

5Top with 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, butter and coconut.

6Mix well.

7Sprinkle on top of pie.

8Bake 10 minutes longer until lightly brown.

9Serve warm or cold.
