Stuffed Clams

Ingredients

  • 2 c. clams (canned or thawed frozen)
  • 1 c. seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • 3 tsp. grated Romano cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. liquid shortening

    Mix all ingredients together.

    Mixture should be loose enough to spoon into clam shells.

    Fill clam shells.

    Sprinkle with additional cheese and lightly with paprika.

    Add small dab of butter in center of clam mixture. Broil until brown.

    Mixture should stand for 1 hour before filling shells. Coat clam shells with oil or butter before filling so shell will be easier to clean.
