Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 c. cooked rice, cooked
  • 4 medium green peppers
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar

Directions

    Brown beef and onion in skillet. Add seasoning and tomato soup. Simmer 10 minutes. Add shredded cheese, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce; cook slowly until cheese melts.

    Stir in rice. Cut peppers in half lengthwise. Remove seed and membranes. Cook in boiling salted water 3 minutes; drain and cool. Fill peppers with filling and bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated thoroughly. May add a thin slice Velveeta cheese on top of peppers before heating.
