Stuffed Squash

  • 6 large whole squash
  • 1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
  • 4 slices raw bacon, cut into pieces with scissors
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Boil onion, bacon, salt and pepper until onion is soft. Preboil squash; cool and slice lengthwise.

    Gut and mash.

    Add to onion mixture and heat until water is gone.

    Sprinkle salt on squash shells; put filling in and grate with Cheddar cheese.

    Bake at 400° until golden brown.
