- 6 large whole squash
- 1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
- 4 slices raw bacon, cut into pieces with scissors
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Boil onion, bacon, salt and pepper until onion is soft. Preboil squash; cool and slice lengthwise.

2Gut and mash.

3Add to onion mixture and heat until water is gone.

4Sprinkle salt on squash shells; put filling in and grate with Cheddar cheese.

5Bake at 400° until golden brown.
