Ingredients
- 6 smooth, uniform tomatoes
- 1 c. cold leftover cooked meat, finely chopped (crisp bacon may be used)
- 1 1/4 c. green and red peppers, chopped
- 1/4 c. onion, chopped
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. (or less) sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- 3 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Cut a slice from stem end of each tomato and scoop out the pulp.

2Place pulp in mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients except butter.

3Mix thoroughly and fill each tomato shell.

4Arrange stuffed tomatoes in baking dish.

5Add 1/2 tablespoon butter to each tomato.

6Add 1/4 cup hot water to baking dish and bake in moderate oven at 350°

7for 25 minutes.

8Serve at once.
