Ingredients

  • 3 cans water chestnuts (whole)
  • 2 lb. bacon
  • 1 lb. box brown sugar
  • 1/8 c. mustard (any kind)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c. liquid (apple juice, cola, soy sauce, etc.)
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Stir the last 4 ingredients together until pancake batter consistency.

    Cut bacon slices in half.
  3. 3
    Wrap water chestnuts in bacon; spear with toothpick (single layer) in a cake pan.

    Pour mixture over to coat each Sumaki (not to cover whole pan).

    Broil until crisp.

    Serve hot.

    May be reheated in microwave.
