Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 4 c. chopped fresh vegetables (broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, celery and green beans)
  • 1/4 c. onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb. pasta
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    In saucepan melt 2 tablespoons butter.

    Stir in flour and cook 2 minutes until bubbly.

    Remove from heat and whisk in milk. Return to heat.

    Bring to a simmer and cook over medium heat until smooth and thickened, stirring constantly.

    Stir in 1/2 cup cheese, basil, salt and pepper.

    Set sauce aside.
