  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 slices bread, soaked in 1/2 c. water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 egg
  • butter or oil for frying

    If possible, have butcher grind meats together twice to make fine.

    Otherwise, mix meats until well-blended.

    Mix in remaining ingredients.

    Form into small balls.

    Fry in butter or oil over medium heat, turning frequently.

    Reduce heat and simmer, covered. Cook 20 to 30 minutes total.
