Swedish Rice Pudding

  • 1 qt. milk (4 c.)
  • 1 c. cream
  • 2/3 c. rice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar

    Cook rice with milk and cream for about 1 1/2 hours in a 2-quart double boiler.
