Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 (14 -1/2 oz.) can chopped tomatoes, drained
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 tsp. sugar

Directions

    Cut steak into serving sized pieces.

    Dip in flour, salt and pepper and brown in oil.

    Combine vegetables, water and sugar and pour over steak.

    Cover; reduce heat to 200° and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

    Thicken sauce for gravy (1 1/2 c. water mixed with 4 tbsp. flour).
