Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 9 taco shells
  • 4 oz. green diced chili
  • jar of picante sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded fine lettuce
  • 1 medium size tomato, cut in bite size wedges

Directions

    In heavy skillet, cook until well done the meat, chopped onions, salt, garlic powder and cumin, stirring often so meat will not be lumpy.

    Drain off grease and put 2 tablespoons of the meat into the taco shell, then add other ingredients in order as listed, putting picante sauce on last.

    Makes 9 tacos.
