Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Directions

    Place sugar, water, corn syrup and salt in a saucepan.

    Boil over medium heat until the mixture, when tested in a glass of cold water, forms a brittle ball like a marble.

    Remove the mixture from pan and let it cool until you can comfortably handle it. Butter your hands and firmly grasp the ends of the taffy.

    Pull it as far as it will go.
  5. 5
    Fold the two ends together and pull again. Repeat this until the taffy becomes snowy white. Pull out and twist into a long thin rope.

    Cut in bite size pieces.

    Wrap each piece in wax paper or kitchen plastic.
