Ingredients
- 8 small apples, clean and unblemished
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- lollipop sticks or skewer
Directions

1Grease a cookie sheet liberaly with butter.

2Push stick or skewers into apples.

3In a large heavy sauce pan combine sugar and water.

4Cook over low heat and stir continuously until sugar dissloves.

5Add cream of tartar, butter, vinegar, and cream and cook stirring constantly, until mixture reaches soft crack stage or 290 degrees on a candy thermometer.

6Remove the pan from heat.

7Dip each apple into mixture and coat, then place on cookie sheet.

8Allow taffy to cool completely before serving.

9May package with colorful plastic wrap and ribbon.
