Ingredients

  • 1 cut up fryer or 6 breasts
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (8 oz.) bottle Catalina dressing
  • 1 can whole cranberries
  • 1 large onion, cut fine
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut fine
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes (I use two cans stewed tomatoes and cut them up if they need it)
  • 1/2 c. uncooked rice (I use Minute rice)
  • 1 tsp. chili powder (you've got to be kidding! I put this in until I feel like I've got enough; I like to be able to taste the spicy taste, so put a lot of this in there!)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Directions

    Cook onion and green pepper slowly in shortening until onion is yellow.

    Add meat and cook until it gets brown.

    I always drain the grease off right here.

    Add tomatoes, rice and seasoning.

    Put in casserole dish (large size) and bake in oven at 350° for 1 hour.
