  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 Tbsp. shortening (margarine)
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients over shortening.

    Blend with pastry blender.

    Add raisins and buttermilk; mix.

    Knead until smooth. Roll out on board into log and slice with knife.

    Bake at 425° for 10 minutes on an ungreased pan.

    Ice if desired.
