- 6 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 1/2 pound butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup water
Directions

1Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

2In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, eggs, sugar, butter, shortening, lemon extract, nutmeg and water.

3On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness.

4Cut with a 2 1/2-inch circle biscuit cutter.

5Place on a greased baking sheet.

6Bake in oven for 15 to 25 minutes, or until slightly golden on the edges.
