- 1 1/2 c. pinto beans
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 1/2 lb. chuck, diced
- 1 clove garlic, split
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. tomatoes, sliced
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1Wash beans, cover with cold water and let stand overnight. Drain beans and place in large saucepan with 2 quarts water.

2Bring to boil, then simmer 1 1/2 hours.

3Drain and reserve 1 cup liquid. Cut up bacon slices.

4Saute in Dutch oven 2 minutes.

5Add meat which has been browned and drained of all fat but 1 tablespoon.
