  • 1/2 c. buttermilk

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • dash of salt

    Bring to boil the water, cocoa and shortening.

    Pour over the flour and sugar (combined).

    Add the eggs; beat until smooth.

    Add the soda, cinnamon, vanilla and salt.
