- 2 lb. extra lean ground beef
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- 1 1/2 c. plus 1 tsp. fresh garlic, minced
- 1 large red bell pepper (1 c.)
- 1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes with thick tomato puree
- 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
- 1 can (15 oz.) kidney beans, drained
- 1 tsp. salt to taste
- 2 to 3 drops hot pepper sauce
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tsp. chili powder
Directions

1Cook beef, onions, red pepper and garlic in 3-quart Dutch oven over medium heat until onions are tender and beef loses pink color.

2Add rest of ingredients.

3Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered until flavors are blended.

4Serve with toppings.
