  • 2 lb. extra lean ground beef
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. plus 1 tsp. fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 large red bell pepper (1 c.)
  • 1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes with thick tomato puree
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1 can (15 oz.) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 tsp. salt to taste
  • 2 to 3 drops hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tsp. chili powder

Directions

    Cook beef, onions, red pepper and garlic in 3-quart Dutch oven over medium heat until onions are tender and beef loses pink color.

    Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered until flavors are blended.
