- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, separated
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/3 c. currant jelly
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Into small bowl, measure flour, brown sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla, salt and egg yolk.

3With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until blended, constantly scraping bowl with rubber spatula.

4Increase speed to medium; beat 1 minute.

5With hands, shape dough in 3/4-inch balls.
