  • 1/2 c. butter (no substitute)
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. quick oats
  • 6 oz. pkg. milk chocolate bits
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar; add vanilla and egg and beat well. Stir in flour and oats; blend.

    Spread in 7 x 11-inch pan.

    Bake for 20 minutes or until brown at 350°.

    Spread chocolate bits over; when melted, spread with a spatula.

    Sprinkle with pecans.
