- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 large egg, separated
- 3/4 c. finely chopped pecans
Directions

1Three to five days before serving, preheat oven to 275°. Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.

2Into large bowl, measure all ingredients, except egg white and pecans.

3With mixer at medium speed, beat ingredients until well mixed, occasionally scraping bowl; pat evenly into pan.

4In cup with fork, beat egg white slightly; brush over top of dough and sprinkle with nuts.

5Bake

61 hour and 10 minutes or until golden brown.

7Immediately cut into 50 bars and remove from pan to cool on wire racks.

8Store in tightly covered container for at least 3 days before serving.
