Ingredients

  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 2 large chopped green peppers
  • 1 lb. lean ground sirloin
  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 large bay leaves
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped up
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 small or 1 large (to taste) jalapeno pepper from can of roasted, peeled jalapenos

    Brown meat; drain.

    Add onions and green peppers.

    Cook until tender-crisp.

    Add all other ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour. Serve over rice.
