- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 egg
- 1 can tomato soup (small)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening together.

2Add water, egg and soup; mix well.

3Add dry ingredients; mix well.

4Stir in walnuts.

5Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.

6Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
