- 5 c. flour (all-purpose)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. warm water (only as warm as your hand can stand)
Directions

1Mix flour, salt, baking powder and shortening together.

2Pour small amount of warm water into flour.

3Knead flour together. Only add enough water to where the flour stays together and forms a ball.

4Preheat wrought iron skillet or some form of baking utensil on top of the stove.

5Make small, round balls; roll out with rolling pin into a circle.

6Cook in wrought iron skillet at a medium to high flame.

7Cook on both sides.

8Flip tortillas with tongs or fork.

9Serves 6 to 8 persons.
