- 2 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. cake flour
- 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. boiling water
Directions

1Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl at medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes until fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Stir in vanilla and salt.

4Mix in flour, 1/3 at a time.

5Mix cocoa, baking soda and boiling water until smooth in a medium bowl; add 1 1/2 cups of cake batter, stirring well.
