Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. butter and cream
- 2 unbeaten eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. well drained maraschino cherries, quartered
- 1 large (4 1/2) Nestle chocolate bar, cut in small pieces or 1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet morsels
Directions

1Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

2Add brown sugar and sugar to butter and cream.

3Beat in unbeaten eggs.

4Beat well after each addition.

5Add vanilla.

6Beat until fluffy.

7Add dry ingredients, alternately with milk beginning and ending with milk. Blend well after each addition.

8Stir in cherries and chocolate. Turn into 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly pan or two 9 x 9-inch pans. Grease and flour bottom.

9Bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes.

10Frost while warm and cut into squares.
