Triple Bean Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. each: chopped celery and onion
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 can each: kidney beans, garbanzo beans, drained green beans or chickpeas
  • 4 c. skim milk
  • 1 can reduced sodium chicken broth

Directions

    Saute celery and onion in margarine until soft.

    Stir in flour, sauce and all seasonings until smooth.

    Remove from heat. Stir in broth and milk.

    Heat to boiling.

    Boil 1 minute.

    Add beans.

    Simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.

    Serve with biscuits.
