Turkey Chili(Serves 8)

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 c. finely chopped onion
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained), cut up
  • 1 or 2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans, drained
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. ground pepper

    In a 4-quart Dutch oven, brown ground turkey in oil.

    Add onion and cook until crisp-tender.

    Add tomato sauce, cut up tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, garlic salt, cayenne pepper and ground pepper.

    Mix well.

    Cover and simmer for 2 to 3 hours or bake in preheated 325° oven for 1 to 2 hours, until mixture is hot and bubbly.
