  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. oleo, melted
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. chocolate chips

Directions

    Mix cake by directions and pour half batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.

    Melt caramels with oleo and milk.

    Blend all well and pour over cake in pan.

    Sprinkle 3/4 cup nuts and chocolate chips over caramel mixture.

    Pour remaining batter over all and sprinkle with remaining nuts.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes longer and test for doneness.

    Cut into squares.
