Ingredients

  • 1 c. cooked drained barley
  • 1 c. slightly crushed, cooked chickpeas
  • 1/2 c. quick cooking oatmeal (raw)
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 small stalk celery
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 1 scallion
  • 1 clove garlic

Directions

    Combine the first 7 ingredients in a large bowl.

    In a blender, finely chop the remaining ingredients.

    Add the chopped vegetables to the ingredients in the bowl and mix thoroughly. Shape into patties.

    Melt margarine in a frying

    pan and cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until lightly browned.
