- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 qt. lukewarm water
- 3 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. oil
- 3 tsp. salt
- 9 c. flour
Directions

1Mix the first 3 ingredients together; let set 10 minutes.

2Add 3 cups flour.

3Beat smooth and bubbly.

4Let stand 20 minutes.

5Add oil, salt and 9 cups flour.

6Knead until smooth.

7Let rise until double, about 1 hour.

8Punch down and cut into 5 pieces.

9Let rest 10 minutes.

10Form into loaves and place on floured pan.

11Let rise until double.

12Just before putting in the oven, slash 4 or 5 times or 1 slash longways.

13When done, brush with butter and cool, uncovered.

14Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, then at 375° for 30 minutes.
