Waldorf Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. very hot water
  • 1/4 c. vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 c. diced tart apples
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Mix 1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatine, sugar and salt.

    Add 1 1/2 cups very hot water and stir until gelatine is thoroughly dissolved.

    Add vinegar or lemon juice; chill to unbeaten egg white consistency.

    Fold in diced tart apples, diced celery and chopped pecans.

    Turn into a 4-cup mold or individual molds. Chill until firm.

    Unmold on salad greens and serve with salad dressing.

    Makes 6 servings.
