  • 3/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 Land O Lakes Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 to 9 drops red food color or 1/16 teaspoon pink paste food color
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup miniature real semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup green decorator sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yellow or gold decorator sugar

    Combine butter and sugar in bowl.

    Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

    Add egg, vanilla and red food color; continue beating until well mixed.

    Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.

    Stir in chocolate chips.

    Divide dough in half; shape each half into 4 1/2-inch log.

    Combine green and yellow decorator sugars in pie pan.

    Roll each log in sugar mixture until outside is well coated.

    Wrap each log in plastic food wrap; refrigerate 1-2 hours or until firm.

    Cut logs in half lengthwise; cut each half into 1/4-inch slices with sharp, serrated knife.
