- 1 1/4 lb. potatoes, peeled and quartered
- fresh turnips, peeled and diced into 1/2-inch pieces
- boiling salted water
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. each: pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg
Directions

1Cook potatoes and turnips in boiling salt water to cover in 3-quart covered saucepan over medium heat, about 20 minutes. Drain.

3Shake pan over low heat a few seconds to dry.
