- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 4 1/4 c. unsifted flour
Directions

1Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and margarine.

2Cool to lukewarm.

3Measure warm water into large warm bowl.

4Sprinkle yeast into water; stir until dissolved.

5Add lukewarm milk mixture.

6Stir in flour; batter will be fairly stiff.

7Beat until well blended, about 2 minutes.

8Cover; let rise in warm place, free from draft, until more than doubled in bulk, about 40 minutes.

9Stir batter down.

10Beat vigorously, about 1/2 minute. Turn into one greased 9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 3-inch loaf pan.

11Bake at 375° for about 50 minutes.
