- 1/4 lb. white chocolate
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. oleo
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1Melt chocolate.

2Cream the butter, oleo and sugar.

3Add egg yolks.

4Add chocolate and mix well.

5Sift flour and sugar.

6Add alternately with sour milk to chocolate mixture; beat well.

7Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.

8Stir in nuts.

9Bake at 350° for 30 minutes in three 9-inch round pans, greased and floured.
