  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Mix thoroughly sugar, Crisco and egg.

    Stir in milk.

    Add flour and blend well.

    Fold in nuts.

    Pour in well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

    Let stand 20 minutes before baking.

    Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes until wooden toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
